I have a little story to share about how fun it is to be a mom. This happened several weeks ago, when Levi was about a month old or so.
I was sitting on the couch, feeding the little guy, when he started scrunching up his lil body and making that face. Oh yeah, you know the one. So I hear that he's successful in getting out a poop, and feel the back of his pajamas to make sure nothing felt out of place. We had already had one poopsplosion so I was cautious. Everything seemed to be fine and dandy, so we finished our feeding, then went to his room to get him dressed and ready for the day.
I start pulling his pajamas up (it was one of those cute lil gowns that make middle-of-the-night diaper changes a breeze) and suddenly realize my hand feels wet. Yep, it was another poopsplosion. Fabulous. And by pulling up his pajamas, I just smeared it up his back. Even better.
'That's okay, this one is wipeable, I can take care of this.' I think to myself. After about nine or ten wipes, I've finally got the kid squeaky clean, and start wrapping up the messy diaper and all of the wipes. In my haste, I forgot the most important part of any diaper change involving a little boy. That's right, the baby washcloth covering his boy parts. Yeah, soon as I got him cleaned, he promptly peed. All over his face, stomach, the changing pad, the dresser, my hand, pretty much everything.
Yeah, forget it kid, you're getting a bath now.
So we had a nice little morning bath. Once Levi was all clean I wrapped him up all nice and snug in his hooded towel and laid him down in his crib. I turn around and start stripping down the pad from his changing pad and wiping down the dresser. As I do, I suddenly hear what sounds like....rain. Rain hitting plastic.
I turn back around and sure enough, the kid had kicked free of his towel that had been wrapped around him and peed. Again. At least this time he was aiming down and missed his face. Instead he got the crib mattress, the side of the crib, and the carpet. Fabulous. Have I mentioned how much fun little boys are??
Luckily, that was our only unscheduled bath (so far). Keep your fingers crossed that it's a long time before we need any more!
Hee Hee Hee Hee Hee...that's all I've got to say to that!
